We Don't Use Tracking Cookies
DebtMage is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not use cookies to track you, identify you, or follow you across websites. Your browsing remains private.
Local Storage (Not Cookies)
Instead of cookies, DebtMage uses your browser's localStorage to store your financial data. This is fundamentally different from cookies:
- Data stays on your device — Your debts, income, expenses, and assets are encrypted and stored locally in your browser
- No server transmission — Unlike cookies, localStorage data is never automatically sent to any server
- Password-protected — Your data is encrypted using AES-256-GCM with a key derived from your password
- You control it — You can clear your data at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage
Analytics
We may use privacy-focused analytics (like Umami) to understand general usage patterns. This analytics tool:
- Does not use cookies
- Does not collect personal information
- Does not track you across websites
- Only collects anonymous aggregate statistics
Essential Browser Features
Your browser may use its own session mechanisms for basic functionality (like keeping you on the page during navigation). These are essential browser features, not tracking mechanisms.
Third-Party Services
DebtMage does not integrate with any third-party advertising networks, social media trackers, or data brokers. We do not share your data with anyone.
Your Rights
Since we don't use tracking cookies, there's nothing to opt out of. However:
- You can clear all DebtMage data by clearing your browser's localStorage for this site
- You can export your data at any time for backup or portability
- You can delete your account and all associated data from the app settings
Changes to This Policy
We may update this cookie policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
